The annual CAPI Oncology & Hematology Summit is an exclusive, invitation-only event that brings together Central Florida’s leading oncologists and hematologists for a day of insight, collaboration, and professional connection. Hosted by the Central Florida Association of Physicians from the Indian Subcontinent (CAPI), this summit offers a unique, non-CME experience designed to foster meaningful dialogue between clinical experts and healthcare innovators. With a carefully curated group of 30 top specialists, each year’s summit provides a high-impact, half-day agenda packed with thought-provoking presentations, collaborative discussions, and networking opportunities.

Sajeve Thomas, MD

Dr Thomas is  Director of Cutaneous & Connective Tissue Oncology, Advent Health Sajeve. He is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with over 13 years of experience. His expertise includes leading a cutaneous and sarcoma program, as well as serving as a clinical investigator in national and international trials. Dr. Thomas specializes in advanced immunotherapies including bispecific, viral oncolytics and cellular therapies and helped pioneer TIL and TCR-based treatments in Central Florida. He is committed to using innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes.

Shveta Gupta, MD, FAAP

Dr. Gupta is a pediatric hematologist and physician executive recognized for her leadership in rare bleeding disorders and women’s blood health. In her role as 2026 CAPI President, she leads more than 600 medical and dental professionals advancing healthcare excellence, community service, and cultural connection across Central Florida.

CAPI  is registered under section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code, providing for the exemption of business leagues, chambers of commerce, real estate boards, boards of trade and professional football leagues, which are not organized for profit and not part of the net earnings of which insures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual. Though 501(c)(6) organizations are “not for profit” and exempt from federal income tax, they are afforded no special treatment under Florida's sales and use tax laws. Contributions to section 501(c)(6) organizations are not deductible as charitable contributions on the donor's federal income tax return.
