Sometimes what people need most isn’t a diagnosis—it’s a chance to ask, to understand, and to feel heard.

At its core, healthcare is about access, trust, and connection. Yet for many individuals and families, getting answers to basic health questions—or even accessing preventive care—can feel out of reach. That’s where community-driven efforts step in to make a meaningful difference.

Each year, the Central Florida Association of Physicians from the Indian Subcontinent (CAPI) brings that mission to life through its Annual Health Fair—an initiative rooted in service, compassion, and a commitment to improving community health outcomes.

“As physicians, our responsibility extends far beyond the exam room. Through CAPI, we are able to come together—more than 600 physicians and healthcare professionals united by a shared purpose—to give back to the community that has given us so much. Our Annual Health Fair reflects not only our commitment to improving access to care, but also our belief in the power of education, early prevention, and meaningful human connection. Rooted in our heritage and guided by compassion, this is one of the many ways we serve—by showing up, listening, and helping individuals take that first step toward better health.”

Dr. Shveta Gupta, 2026 CAPI President

Meeting a Critical Need

In a world where healthcare can often feel complex or inaccessible, the opportunity to speak directly with physicians, ask questions, and receive basic screenings—at no cost—can be transformative. Preventive care and early detection are key to long-term wellness, yet many individuals delay care due to cost, time, or uncertainty.

CAPI’s Health Fair helps bridge that gap—creating a welcoming, community-centered environment where individuals can take a proactive step toward better health.

Ask the Experts: A Day of Access and Insight

The 2026 CAPI Health Fair, themed “Ask the Experts,” invited community members to engage directly with a diverse group of physicians and healthcare professionals across multiple specialties.

Held at the Maa Durga Sri Sai Baba Temple in Orlando, the event was designed to provide both education and hands-on support—meeting people where they are and empowering them with knowledge they can carry forward. Attendees enjoyed a range of services and interactions, including:

  • Blood pressure screenings and basic health checks

  • One-on-one consultations with physicians and specialists

  • Preventive care guidance and wellness tips

  • Health education resources across multiple medical fields

  • Opportunities to ask personal health questions in a supportive setting

  • Community connection with healthcare providers who understand and serve the local population

Following the health fair, registered guests were treated to lunch—creating an additional opportunity for connection, conversation, and community building.

As a valued and long-standing partner, the Maa Durga Sri Sai Baba Temple has graciously provided the space for this event—creating a welcoming environment where care and community come together. Shown here, CAPI presents a donation to the Temple in appreciation of their partnership and shared dedication to service.

A Reflection of CAPI’s Mission

For nearly two decades, CAPI has remained committed to advancing healthcare excellence while giving back to the Central Florida community. With more than 600 medical and dental professionals, the organization continues to lead through service—offering not only clinical expertise, but also time, care, and compassion.

The Annual Health Fair is more than an event—it is a reflection of that commitment in action.

It represents physicians stepping beyond their practices to meet people face-to-face. It reflects a belief that education and prevention are just as important as treatment. And it reinforces the idea that strong communities are built when healthcare is accessible, inclusive, and rooted in trust.

Building Healthier Communities, Together

As healthcare continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: the importance of community. Events like the CAPI Health Fair remind us that meaningful impact doesn’t always happen in hospitals or clinics—it often begins with a conversation, a question, or a simple check-up.

Through initiatives like this, CAPI continues to strengthen the connection between physicians and the communities they serve—ensuring that care extends beyond the exam room and into the heart of Central Florida.

Because when knowledge is shared, access is expanded, and care is given freely—everyone benefits.
