For more than ten years, the Central Florida Association of Physicians from the Indian Subcontinent (CAPI) has proudly partnered with AdventHealth to strengthen our region’s medical community through education, cultural connection, and a shared commitment to excellence. When we invest in physician education and mentorship, patients across Central Florida benefit from care that’s more skilled, more compassionate, and more connected to the communities it serves.

Honoring Excellence in Graduate Medical Education

In 2015, CAPI established the CAPI Award for Excellence in partnership with AdventHealth’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) program — a legacy made possible through a $60,000 endowed gift from CAPI members. This endowment continues to grow through additional contributions, ensuring permanent support for outstanding residents and faculty.

Each year, during AdventHealth’s Graduate Medical Education Research & Quality Improvement Day, the CAPI Award for Excellence recognizes:

• One Resident who demonstrates exemplary performance, compassion, and service

• One Faculty Physician who goes above and beyond in shaping the next generation of medical leaders

A Tradition of Celebration and Recognition

As part of this meaningful partnership:

• CAPI presents custom plaques to each resident and faculty honoree

• AdventHealth maintains a permanent plaque in the GME Office listing all recipients

• CAPI is recognized in all event announcements and advertising

• Award ceremony photos are shared with the CAPI President for celebration and archival

• The resident honoree is invited to the CAPI Annual Gala for special recognition among peers, mentors, and the broader Indian medical community
